Lino Cutting & Printing with Lizzie Sturges
We’re delighted to welcome artist Lizzie Sturges to The Artist’s Cup for a relaxed, hands-on introduction to lino printing. Over two hours, Lizzie will guide you through the whole process. You’ll sketch out an idea, carve it into your own lino block, ink it up and pull your very first print.
Once your block is carved, you can ink it up again and again, printing as many times as you like on cards and good-quality paper. You’ll head home with a little collection of your own artwork, plus your carved block, so you can keep printing long after the session ends.
No experience needed. Lino printing is wonderfully approachable for beginners, and it’s the kind of craft that’s easy to get lost in.
What’s included
Step-by-step guidance from Lizzie on designing, carving and inking
Use of all carving and rolling tools
Your own 15 × 10cm lino block, big enough for one larger design or two smaller ones
All the ink you need, with unlimited prints on cards and quality paper
Good to know: Refreshments will be available from our bar throughout. Ink can get a little messy, so we’d recommend wearing clothes you’re not too precious about.
We’re running two sessions, one in the afternoon and one in the evening, so you can pick whichever suits you best.
Sessions:
Thursday, 26th November | 7pm
Sunday, 29th November | 2:30pm
